Things to Do in Wilmington Midtown

The midtown area is a great place to live if you are in search of a coastal lifestyle, as the nearby beach towns offer numerous opportunities for boating and kayaking, fishing, surfing and sunbathing. Wilmington Midtown is also home to several large parks, including Airlie Gardens, Long Leaf Park, Empie Park and Halyburton Park.

Many people love the midtown area for the North Carolina Arboretum in Wilmington, as well as Jungle Rapids Family Fun Park, which offers a large water park with a wave pool and waterslides, go-karts, a lazy river, arcade and climbing wall. No mention of the area is complete without noting the Donald Ross-designed Wilmington Municipal Golf Course or the many shopping and dining opportunities, available at large retail centers such as Mayfaire, Lumina Station and The Pointe at Barclay, one of the newest in the area.
